Where can I get a MRI done if I am on needy share of cost medicaid?

I live in Tampa area, and on disability. I do not get medicare insurance till November 2011. My dr. has ordered a prescription for a Mri of my cervical spine. I called Tower Radialogy and was quoted $1420.00 and will take half at time of test and balance within 30 days. My share of cost is $952.00 per month. I have already spent $ 562.00 this month for dr. visit and prescriptions. I tried reaching family and children services in hillsboro to speak with someone, yet I cant get anything but a recording saying try back later all operators busy and ten it hangs up on you. I cant even leave a message or my phone number. I have no case worker, so i have no one to ask these questions to. What do you think if I go to the hospital and try to get it done there? Is that even possible? I only recieve $1152.00 a month from social security to which I pay all my living expenses, rent, elec., phone, medical and food. When I first went on disability I had a small savings, yet over the past 2 years I have had to spend it in order to keep my bills paid and any medical tests which are not cheap, like Lab, chest xrays, and cat scan, such my drs. had requested. I had open heart surgery in June, 2009, reacurring MRSA that affected my thoracic spine, asthma , COPD and my primary care only insists on sending me to specialists for their reports and they order tests. Believe me when I say they have left me broke and now I am worried I cant get the medical attention anymore I need because I no longer can afford it. What can I do but wait untill November and see what kind of medical insurance I will be given from medicare. Can anyone give me advice on this subject as well as where I can get tests done where I can afford them.
